Solar PV array adaptors allow you to safely connect solar modules to inverters or equipment with different connector systems. These adapters make it possible to integrate components from different manufacturers while maintaining proper electrical continuity and polarity.

Designed for compatibility across multiple PV connector platforms, each adaptor connects to the module’s factory-installed lead and converts it to the required connector type for your inverter or balance-of-system equipment.

Correct polarity is essential. Adapters must match both the physical connector type and the electrical polarity (+ / −) of the system to ensure safe operation. Each adaptor is assembled with properly matched positive and negative connections to maintain system integrity.

Connector terminology can be confusing. In solar applications, “male” and “female” technically refer to the metal contact pins, not the outer plastic housing. Some solar manufacturers — including Amphenol, TE Connectivity (SOLARLOK), Stäubli (MC4), and Radox — configure their housings differently than traditional electrical connectors. Ensuring compatibility requires confirming both contact type and housing style.
